Breakfast staff very friendly. From the hotel it was easy to get to Lymington Pier to go to the Isle of Wight.

Wonderful decor, they let our dog stay, really friendly hotel staff who clearly want to impress. The price (from Booked.net) The location is amazing and the history of the place is special too.
The service from one member of the restaurant staff pretty much ruined a nice stay. My partners dietary requirements were not met at all. In fact what should have been a discreet dining experience ended up with me stood holding a plate of food in the middle of the restaurant whilst my partner nearly sobbed at the table, her privacy ruined. A total disgrace for which we were charged the full price. Shows what the restaurant thinks of its diners. A real let don for the rest of the hotel but as it's part of the hotel has to take responsibility.

This place is in a beautiful location in a pleasant area and the restaurant is great for breakfast, plus it's only a 15-minute drive to St John.

friendly and helpful staff
there is only a 'gourmet' menu, which was too much after a days work. I would recommend a lighter menu choice expecially in the spring summer. A salad would have been nice. I was upgraded to the main house, but the room still only had a shower - no bath.

Very simple check in and out process. Nice breakfast.
When window was open it was noisy from traffic but no air con so with window shut it was stuffy. Room smaller than expected.

The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated, with excellent en suite bathrooms and lovely views. The attention to detail in the decor was impressive and added a lot of character to the hotel. The location was also great, as it was close to bustling towns like Christchurch and Bournemouth, as well as charming New Forest villages like Beaulieu and Lyndhurst. it was a very good value for money and I would highly recommend it.
The only thing that could be improved was the breakfast, which was great the first morning but a bit disappointing the next day when they ran out of cooked items.

The hotel is beautifully decorated to a very high standard. The rooms are fairly small, but the decor is lovely and the bed very comfortable.

I arrived for check-in at 3.20 pm and was told my room wasn't ready, even though check-in is supposed to be at 3pm. Then the receptionist said she had to go and show somebody to their room and do left us standing and waiting for a full 15 minutes! Finally our room was ready 25 minutes later. We were shown to our room (no10) it was absolutely tiny and the bathroom ridiculously small. There was confetti and petals all over the floor, receptionist said she would have the cleaner return to clean it, but they never turned up! We said that the room was unacceptable for the price we had paid and wanted to move. It is rediculous that all house rooms are the same price yet some are far better than others. I had to ask for info on breakfast times etc as I was not told anything upon arrival.

We enjoyed the comfort of our room and the different relaxing areas. The setting was glorious, (wonderful copper beech tree) great for an early morning or after dinner stroll. All the staff were very helpful and friendly.
